About Northern Virginia 2A Porcupine 411

Nova 2A Porcupine 411 is a rapid message distribution network.

You can use “Nova 2A Porcupine 411″ to promote gun rights in Virginia, the VCDL and Open Carry. Some additional things which Porcupine 411 can be used for include:

  • Locations of speed traps and roadblock/checkpoints
  • Reporting unusual police activity (no cop “bashing”)
  • Distress calls in case of detention (not “free to go”), roadside detention or imminent arrest
  • Upcoming 2A social events, OpenCarry events, 2A related town halls/meetings, activities or almost anything else of immediate interest to NOVA gun activists.

Here’s how it works:

  1. To notify the other Nova 2A “porcs” of something, call 1-571-482-1411 and leave a message after the beep. Porcupine 411 will then distribute an audio file containing your message to everyone who is subscribed to the list after you hang up. If you need people to show up, maybe call once.. explain the situation and location, hang up, THEN CALL BACK to continue documenting the event.
  2. To receive the audio notifications when someone leaves a message, subscribe to the mailing list using the form below.

In addition to email, you can receive messages via podcast or iTunes.

You can also subscribe most MMS-capable wireless phones and receive the messages directly on your phone whenever you are away from home! To do this, you’ll need to subscribe using your phone’s MMS email address, which may be different from its text email address. (To find out your phone’s MMS email address, email a picture to your home email from your phone, and use the email address it came from.) Keep in mind that your wireless provider may charge you for receipt of MMS messages.

Porcupine 411 is named after the porcupine, mascot of the Free State Project, a movement to bring liberty loving activists to New Hampshire to work toward reducing the size and scope of government. Porcupines are harmless creatures until provoked, when they use their quills to defend themselves. Free State Project participants often call themselves porcupines, or “porcs.”

Great! Not sure why it need to be set up for only northern Va. Maybe someone needs to set up another for the tidewater area….still great.

William, People from Tidewater don’t really come up to Nova for dinners and/or events. If a NOVA Porc posted that he needed someone to video him ASAP, another porc from Tidewater could not respond in a timely manner. I agree that the more 411′s around the state and/or country are great. There is talk of one starting now in Richmond too.
